In a compelling video, online gaming personality RedFalcon gives us a glimpse of a peculiar side of Mario Kart 8, one where the enigmatic Lakitu ceases to impede players from falling off the track, thereby unearthing a myriad of colossal shortcuts that had been hiding in plain sight.
Utilising a surfeit of Mushroom Power, RedFalcon demonstrated his ability to leap from one section of the track to another on the iconic Rainbow Road. This unprecedented feat enabled him to bypass large swathes of the course, all while maintaining the adrenaline-fueled excitement that is synonymous with the Mario Kart franchise.
Similarly, new, time-saving leaps became feasible on Cheep Cheep Beach and at the Mario Kart Stadium, thanks to the absence of Lakitu. These newly discovered shortcuts significantly reduced the duration of a race, adding a fresh twist to the familiar tracks.
Yet, the most spectacular gain in terms of time efficiency was on the Big Blue track. RedFalcon was able to complete an entire race in less than 30 seconds, potentially setting a global record for one of Mario Kart 8’s most challenging circuits.
